Invincea raises $16 million in Series C funding
Invincea, a Fairfax, Virginia based cyber security solutions company has announced that they have raised $16 million in Series C funding. Aeris Capital and Dell Ventures led this round of funding with participation from existing investors Grotech Ventures, Harbert Ventures, and New Atlantic Ventures. Invincea focuses on building virtual containers for advanced malware threat detection, breach prevention, and forensic threat intelligence.
Invincea also announced that they have acquired Sandboxie earlier this year. Prior to the acquisition Sandboxie was one of Invincea’s largest competitors in the virtualized containment solutions market.
“We’re proud to be backed by our new investors Aeris and Dell, and for the continued support from our existing investors,” stated Anup Ghosh, founder and CEO at Invincea. “We are fortunate to be in a situation where our revenues and deployments are on an exponential growth plane — giving us the ability to take strategic funding to support certain initiatives, such as our expansion in Europe. The acquisition of Sandboxie is another strategic move for Invincea and we’re thrilled to be adding Sandboxie’s fervent fan base to our rapidly growing global user community. We look forward to working with and embracing the active community of Sandboxie users and are excited to offer them a pathway to an enterprise solution delivered by Invincea FreeSpace.”
