James Cameron provides a few more details about new Avatar movies
James Cameron, the director of hits like True Lies, Aliens, Terminator, and Titanic, and Avatar, has revealed a few more details about the Avatar sequels. Cameron said that he wants to create a trilogy of the Avatar films and said that the sequels will explore more of Pandora as the setting. The sequels will be shot in New Zealand, which is where he shot the original. The first sequel is slated to be released in 2016, which is 7 years after the original.
“It’s going to be a lot of new imagery and a lot of new environments and creatures across Pandora. We’re blowing it out all over the place. At first I thought I was going to take it onto other worlds as well, in the same solar system, but it turned out not to be necessary. I mean the Pandora that we have imagined will be a fantasy land that is going to occupy people for decades to come, the way I see it,” said Cameron.
The sequels will explore Na’vi cultures as well as other creatures of Pandora. “There are underwater scenes and surface-water scenes having to do with indigenous ocean cultures that are distributed across the three films,” added Cameron.
