RethinkDB raises $8 million in funding
RethinkDB is an open-source distributed database startup that has raised $8 million in a new round of funding. Highland Capital Partners led this round of funding with participation from Draper Fisher Jurvetson and Webb Investment Network. RethinkDB has raised $12 million in total so far.
This round of funding will be used for long-term support release of the company’s database product. It will also give the company time to develop commercial support.
RethinkDB’s open-source database is horizontally scalable and has support for JOINS. RethinkDB can manipulate JSON data types with less administrative overhead of a traditional relational database.
