Upset burglar returns flip phone back to victim
Example of a flip phone
There is a news story out of New York about how a burglar held up a man at gunpoint in Central Park on Saturday. Apparently Kevin Cook was mugged, but the thief returned his phone after finding out that it was an old flip phone.
“Once he saw my phone, he looked at it like, ‘What the f**k is this?’ and gave it back to me,” stated Cook in an interview with the NY Post.
Cook said that his phone was a “3-year-old generation Windows phone.”
This is not the first time that a thief returned phones back to his or her victims. A thief attempted to mug two Columbia University students last year, but gave them back their BlackBerry phones. The thief said “I want iPhones.”
According to the Federal Communications Commission, about 40% of robberies in major American cities involved cellphones. Thieves generally go after iPhones in order to resell them.
