LG Electronics will soon uncover a TV that is powered by webOS, a mobile operating created by Palm Inc. Palm developed webOS when building the Palm Pre smartphone. Palm was acquired by LG from Hewlett Packard earlier this year. HP acquired Palm in 2010 and used webOS to build tablets and smartphones, but failed to make a dent against their competition.

According to The Verge, the smart TV will retain the Cards interface that webOS was known for. The webOS powered TV will be displayed at the CES trade show in January and it is expected to have a 2.2GHz dual-core processor with 1.5GB of RAM.

It will also have apps that are based on the webOS Enyo framework and multitasking through the Cards interface.  The pricing and availability is unknown.
