BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) has filed a lawsuit against Ryan Seacrest’s company Typo Products. Typo Products is known for building a smartphone keyboard attachment. Seacrest is a co-founder in Typo Products.

“This is a blatant infringement against BlackBerry’s iconic keyboard, and we will vigorously protect our intellectual property against any company that attempts to copy our unique design,” stated BlackBerry general counsel and chief legal officer Steve Zipperstein.

Seacrest is best known for hosting Fox’s American Idol. He co-founded Typo Products with Laurence Hallier. Last month, we reported that Typo Products raised $1 million. Typo Products is expected to showcase the $99 keyboard attachment at CES next week in Las Vegas. The device is expected to start shipping later this month.

BlackBerry filed the complaint on Friday at the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.
