Palo Alto Networks acquires Morta Security
Palo Alto Networks has acquired a security startup company called Morta Security. Morta was founded by former employees at the U.S. Air Force and the National Security Agency. The terms of the acquisition was undisclosed. This is Palo Alto Networks’ first acquisition.
Another large Internet security company transaction that took place was on December 30th. FireEye spent over $1 billion to acquire Mandiant.
Morta Security is known for targeting advanced security threats, known as “Advanced Persistent Threats.” This can be nation-state sponsored cyber attacks against companies and government agencies.
Some of Morta Security’s investors include Greylock Partners, Norwest Venture Partners and Andreessen Horowitz.
