Travel booking website Rocketmiles has raised $6.5 million in Series A funding led by August Capital with participation from Peterson Ventures, Link Ventures, Atlas Venture, Chicago Ventures and Sam Yagan (Match.com CEO). Rocketmiles lets you search for top hotels in thousands of cities and the website will automatically post new miles to the account of your choice. You can use the miles to go to dream destinations.

When buying hotel stays on Rocketmiles, customers generally earn 7,000 airline miles per booking (around 10x – 20x per typical incentive). Hotel partners are happy with Rocketmiles because they can reach premium customers without visible discounting.

“For 25 million people worldwide, loyalty programs enable that winter break to San Juan or personal adventure to New Zealand. Our goal is to make that vacation happen faster,” stated Rocketmiles CEO Jay Hoffmann. “Based on our proprietary data, we know the average traveler stands to earn in excess of 80,000 extra miles per year if they use Rocketmiles for their hotel bookings.”
