Yahoo! acquires Incredible Labs
Yahoo! has acquired Incredible Labs, the startup that runs the mobile personal assistant called Donna. Around 5 out of the 7 members will be joining Yahoo! Donna will be shutting down following the acquisition. Donna notifies users about whether they need to leave for a meeting and the assistant also provides directions. It also e-mails contacts automatically if you are running late.
The hires from Incredible Labs include Kevin Cheng, Arshad Tayyeb, Spence Murray, Jesper Andersen, and Jason LeBrun. Incredible Labs co-founder Scott San Filippo is not joining Yahoo! They will be joining the Yahoo! Communications department to work on Yahoo! Mail.
Incredible Labs raised $2.5 million from investors such as Khosla Ventures, Betaworks, Maynard Webb, CrunchFund, Ashton Kutcher, and several other angel investors.

For her clients, she’s the ultimate daily habit. When we met with the team from Incredible Labs, it was an immediate fit. As we look to the future, our visions are aligned in that we think technology should be smart enough to think for us. Five team members will join the Communications team in Sunnyvale at deal close, where they will work on Yahoo Mail. The transaction, which is subject to customary closing conditions, is expected to close in the next few days,” said Yahoo! in a statement.
