Tesla Motors Inc (TSLA): Elon Musk to receive 2014 Edison Achievement Award

Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) CEO Elon Musk is going to receive the prestigious Edison Achievement Award on April 29th. Musk is receiving the award for his contribution to human-centered design and his positive influence on creating new marketing opportunities. He is also receiving the award for inspiring future leaders and innovators worldwide.

Elon Musk is the CEO and Product Architect of Tesla Motors and the CEO/CTO of Space Exploration Technologies (SpaceX). The awards ceremony will be taking place on April 29-30, 2014 at the Julia Morgan Ballroom in San Francisco.

“Elon Musk is a true visionary of our time, and we could not be more honored to present him with the 2014 Edison Achievement Award,” stated Frank Bonafilia, Executive Director of the Edison Awards. “His intense desire to improve lives and make our world a better place through his abilities and accomplishments serve as living acknowledgement and embodiment of Thomas Edison’s values and principles.”

Some of the past winners of the Edison Achievement Award include: Dr. Paul E. Jacobs (Qualcomm chairman), Chris Anderson (TED Curator and Sapling Foundation founder), Steve Jobs (Apple CEO/co-founder), Alan Mulally (Ford CEO), John Hendricks (Discovery Communications founder and chairman), Martha Stewart (Chairman of Martha Stewart Living), and Ted Turner (Time Warner Vice Chairman)

The Edison Awards started to honor the innovations and innovators in 1987.
