Foodpanda has raised $20 million in funding
Foodpanda, a startup that was incubated by Rocket Internet, has raised $20 million in funding from a few investors including Phenomen Ventures. Foodpanda plans on using the funding to expand their delivery marketplace for restaurants. Foodpanda plans to launch in over 40 more markets by the end of Q1 2014. Foodpanda plans to launch in Croatia, Bulgaria, Serbia, Slovenia, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Tanzania, and Uganda. Foodpanda has now raised a total of $48 million.

Having acquired the trust from experienced investors we will be able to continue our growth strategy to become a truly global internet brand. Further to this, we will push our expansion within our existing markets, to gain presence at every corner of every country we are active in. We continue to invest in customer service, creating the most convenient way to order food – no matter where you are,” stated Foodpanda/Hellofood co-founder and global managing director Ralf Wenzel.
