Microsoft is building a notification center as part of an update for Windows Phone 8.1, according to Winphollowers. The demand for a notification center for Windows Phone has been high. The notification center feature is quite popular on iOS and Android already so it is proven that it will be popular on Windows Phone.

The Windows Phone notification center is expected to be called Action Center. The Action Center could be activated when taking a short swipe from the top of the screen.

The Action Center displays the date, battery level, and settings shortcuts. Microsoft will also reportedly launch the Cortana personal assistant in Windows Phone 8.1
