Foxconn plans to encourage employee startups
Foxconn, one of the largest consumer electronics manufacturers in the world, is planning to encourage entrepreneurship. Terry Guo, the CEO of Foxconn, wants to change the company’s negative image for overworking and underpaying employees.
Foxconn has a goal of launching five companies per year. Three out of five of them would become separate companies.
“I want Hon Hai employees to have a chance to be bosses,” said Guo in an interview with Want China Times. Foxconn is also launching a new project called Dreams of Being Rich Come True, which will encourage young people to create their own startup and Foxconn will offer design and development help.
