Shape Security receives $40 million in Series C
Shape Security is a service that protect websites from automated attacks. The company has received a new round of funding about a month after coming out stealth mode.
Shape Security has received $40 million in Series C funding led by Norwest Venture Partners. New investor Sierra Ventures participated in this round along with previous investors Kleiner Perkins, Venrock, Google Ventures, Allegis Capital and TomorrowVentures. Shape Security has received $66 million across three rounds of funding.
Shape Security has launched hardware called Shapeshifter. Shapeshifter is a “botwall” which is a combination of the word “bot” and the word “firewall.” Shapeshifter constantly changes the source code of the section of a website that handles the sign-in interface to block bots from entering.
