MakerBot’s Replicator Mini 3D Printer is now available for pre-order

Replicator Mini 3D printer
MakerBot’s first compact printer, known as the MakerBot Replicator Mini, was unveiled at CES 2014. The smaller 3D printer device is WiFi-enabled and costs $1,375. The Mini is now available for pre-order. The Mini is $1,000 less than the full-sized version of the printer.

The Mini offers one-touch 3D printing without having to calibrate or level the printer’s build plate. The printer is half the size of the Replicator 2 and has the print capacity of 3.9 L x 3.9 W x 4.9 H inches. The Mini includes the same extruder that is found on the full-sized Replicator and comes with a built-in camera that lets you remotely monitor the 3D print process and share images on social media, according to Mashable.

The objects printed through the Mini are at 200-micron layer resolution using MakerBot PLA Filament, which is a corn-based biodegradable plastic.
