Salesforce.com, Inc. (CRM) to open 3 data centers in Europe
Salesforce.com, Inc. (NYSE:CRM) is going to open three data centers in Europe and create 500 additional jobs there. This news comes on the heels of Salesforce.com announcing a 41% increase in European revenues during their fiscal 2014.
Salesforce.com will open their first U.K. data center in August along with additional data centers in France and Germany in 2015.
This may potentially alleviate concerns that European customers have with their information being stored in U.S. locations following the controversy around U.S. National Security Agency spying.
Salesforce.com denied that this was a consideration in the plans though and said that the new data centers were built due to “tremendous growth and customer momentum” in Europe. The new data centers will give Salesforce.com the infrastructure needed for load balancing and disaster recovery for their cloud software products.
