Tesla Motors Inc (TSLA): Model S price drops 7,000 euros in Germany
Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) has dropped the price of the Model S in Germany and several other European countries. The introductory base price of the Model S when it launched in Germany was 72,000 euros.
Now electric vehicle enthusiasts in certain areas of Europe can buy a Model S from 65,300 euros. The price in the Netherlands dropped around 4,000 euros to 66,200 euros.
Tesla said that the reason for the price drop is because of the appreciation of the currency against the U.S. dollar. Tesla has a policy of “fairing pricing in all international markets.” Only 95 Model S electric vehicles were registered in Germany for the first 2 months.
