Rover.com raises $12 million in funding
Rover.com is a Seattle based startup that connects pet owners with dog sitters. Rover.com has raised $12 million in Series C funding led by Menlo Ventures with participation from existing investors Madrona Venture Group, Foundry Group, and Petco. Rover.com has raised a total of $25 million thus far.
Dog owners can use Rover.com to stay in touch with the dog sitting using a messaging app. Around 92% of the U.S. population now lives within a short drive from a Rover sitter. There are over 25,000 Rover sitters and services available across the U.S. and a total of 1 million Rover community members.
Some of the dog sitters are now seeing six-figure incomes and new sitters are earning 50 times more in their first 90 days than people that joined 18 months ago, according to TechCrunch.
