Google and Microsoft pressures Asus to cancel dual-boot tablet
At the Consumers Electronics Show this year, Asus introduced the Transformer Book Duet TD300. What made this device unique is that it could dual-boot Microsoft Windows and Google Android. Microsoft and Google reportedly does not want this device to happen though.
Asus has indefinitely postponed plans to sell the TD300 as a result, according to The Wall Street Journal. If Asus goes ahead with manufacturing the TD300, it is possible Microsoft would withhold from promoting the device.
Intel will take a hit if Asus does not make this device also because it built processors that are capable of running two operating systems. Although Intel is gaining marketshare when it comes to building processors smartphones and tablets, the processor giant is still losing to competitors like Qualcomm and Samsung.
