According to Re/Code, eBay Inc (NASDAQ:EBAY) has laid off “dozens” of employees at its Magento e-commerce software division. The total number of affected jobs is at around 50 people. The layoffs includes Magento’s product and marketing departments at its office in San Jose and Magento’s office in L.A. Jimmy Duvall, the head of product at Magento, will be departing from the company.

eBay spokeswoman Kelly Henry confirmed the layoffs, but did not specify the exact number.

“We’re consolidating our local offices to allow the business to focus more deeply on developing our core Magento products, Magento Enterprise Edition and Community Edition, which combined are enabling more than 200,000 merchants worldwide,” said Henry in a statement to Re/Code.

eBay acquired Magento in 2011. Magento is a software platform that enables brands and retailers to sell products online. Magento has been offering three different products since 2011. The three products are: Magento Go, Magento Enterprise Edition, and Community Edition. Magento Go targets small businesses and competes against services like Shopify and Bigcommerce.
