Honda is recalling around 900,000 Odyssey minivans
Honda is going to recall around 900,000 Odyssey minivans due to a potential fire hazard, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
Honda told the agency that part of the fuel pump in Odyssey models from 2005 to 2010 could “deteriorate prematurely,” which could result in cracks and allow gas to leak. Honda is not aware of any fires or injuries resulting from the issue.
The recall affects 886,815 vehicles built at a Honda plant in Alabama. Honda will provide interim parts to customers. The cracks in the fuel pump could have several causes, such as acid build up from chemicals found in car washes and acidic materials used in fertilizer and chemicals used to control dust.
