How this photo helped saved this 3-year-old’s vision
Tara Taylor posted this photo of her three-year-old daughter Rylee on Facebook. Tara’s friends noticed that something was wrong with the photo. Rylee’s left eye appeared to be glowing. Although it seems like her eye was glowing due to light bouncing off of the camera lens, it was actually linked to a disease.
Taylor’s friend said “Hey, I’m sure it’s nothing. It’s probably the lighting, but your daughter’s eye is glowing and you might want to have it checked out because it’s a sign there could be an issue with her eye,” as quoted by Memphis news company WREG.
Tara Taylor was diagnosed with Coats’ disease. Coats’ disease is a rare condition that could cause blindness or a partial loss of vision in the eyes. If it is detected early, it could be treated. The problem with Coats’ disease is that symptoms are hard to spot. A person’s vision deteriorates in one eye and often shifts to the other eye.@amitchowdhry or on Google+ at +AmitChowdhry
