The White House does not like Obama’s Samsung selfie
The White House is not happy about Samsung’s commercial use of a selfie that Red Sox player David Ortiz took with President Obama this week.
“As a rule, the White House objects to attempts to use the president’s likeness for commercial purposes,” stated White House press secretary Jay Carney in an interview with The Wall Street Journal. “And we certainly object in this case.”
Ortiz visited the White House on Opening Day and took a photo using a Samsung Galaxy Note 3. Samsung Electronics retweeted the photo quickly after that. Samsung also took credit for the selfie.
“We were thrilled to see the special, historic moment David Ortiz captured with his Galaxy Note 3 during his White House visit,” said Samsung in quote by The Boston Globe.
