Amazon.com, Inc. (AMZN) Fire TV sold out due to high demand
Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) released the Fire TV device around a week ago. The Amazon Fire TV has voice search, a quad-core processor, 2GB of memory, dedicated GPU, 1080p HD video, Dolby Digital Plus surround sound, and the ability to play games.
Amazon is selling the Fire TV for $99 each and has already sold out. Amazon said that the lack of Fire TVs was because of unprecedented high demand rather than supply chain bottlenecks.
“We’re thrilled with the customer response to Fire TV so far — we’re building more as quickly as we can and we’re expecting more inventory next week,” said Amazon spokesperson Kinley Pearsall in an interview with Re/code.
Amazon did not reveal the figures around the sales.
