Amazon.com, Inc. (AMZN) Prime users to get access to HBO shows

Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) and HBO announced a partnership today where Amazon Prime users will gain access to HBO content. Several HBO shows and mini-series programs will be included in this deal.

Amazon Prime users will be able to stream content from computers, smartphones, tablets, and TVs. The HBO content will also be available through Amazon’s Fire TV device.

“HBO has produced some of the most groundbreaking, beloved and award-winning shows in television history, with more than 115 Emmys amongst the assortment of shows coming to Prime members next month,” stated Amazon’s Director of Content Acquisition Brad Beale. “HBO original content is some of the most-popular across Amazon Instant Video—our customers love watching these shows. Now Prime members can enjoy a collection of great HBO shows on an unlimited basis, at no additional cost to their Prime membership.”

Some of the shows included in this deal include Eastbound & Down, Family Tree, Treme, Band of Brothers, John Adams, The Sopranos, The Wire, and Six Feet Under. Early seasons of Boardwalk Empire and True Blood will also be included. The HBO content will be available for Amazon Prime subscribers starting May 21st.
