Mark Zuckerberg gets a wax statue by Madame Tussauds
In June, Facebook chief executive Mark Zuckerberg will have a wax statue at Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco. Madame Tussauds, the London-based wax museum franchise, unveiled a life-size wax statue of Zuckerberg to promote its grand opening in San Francisco in June.
Zuckerberg’s statue was revealed along wax figures of actor Leonardo DiCaprio and pop artist Rihanna. Zuckerberg’s statue is barefoot and is sitting with a laptop.
Madame Tussauds has made wax figures of other well-known tech leaders. This includes Apple co-founder Steve Jobs and Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates.
Zuckerberg’s wax figure took 20 artists between 3 and 4 months to build. Every freckle is there and the figure’s hair is real. The hair took two weeks to complete and was inserted one strand at a time. Zuckerberg was not available for a measurement sitting so the sculptors had to use only photos.
The museum is opening on June 26th and will have more celebrities, politicians, and tech executives.
