Facebook Inc (FB) backtracks on Moves data privacy
Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) acquired a fitness app company called Moves a few weeks ago. The Moves app was created by a small Finland-based activity tracking startup called ProtoGeo. This acquisition gives Facebook the opportunity to compete against other fitness technology apps like FitBit and Runkeeper.
After the acquisition, Moves said that its users would not have to worry about Facebook accessing their personal data. That promise ended up being short-lived.
