Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) has announced today it has acquired cloud monitoring service Stackdriver. Stackdriver’s services will be rolled into Google Cloud Platform in the next several months. The financial details were undisclosed. However, we do know that Stackdriver raised a total of $15 million in venture capital across two rounds led by Bain Capital and Flybridge Capital so it is likely that the price was quite a bit higher than that.

Launched in 2012, Stackdriver lets users monitor their cloud applications and automate some of the developer operations. Stackdriver is known for monitoring Amazon Web Services, Rackspace cloud services, and Google Cloud Engine instances.

Stackdriver will continue to offer all of its existing services going forward and will provide users with tools for working in a hybrid cloud environment. However, the team will focus on integrating the service with the Google Cloud Platform.
