Lyft has partnered with West Coast Customs, a popular car shop that worked on vehicles for MTV’s show “Pimp My Ride.” The new “Lyft Plus” premium service will cost twice the price of regular rides. Lyft said that this service will still be cheaper than Uber — costing 20% less than Uber Black and 40% less than Uber SUV. The Lyft SUVs have a custom grille with a steel mustache on them. It also has an illuminated entrance with custom under-car LED lights and comes with access to Spotify Premium.

“Founder Ryan Friedlinghaus and his team of custom car experts have worked with our brand team to design specialty Ford Explorers exclusively for Lyft Plus, with custom finishing touches,” said Lyft. Lyft opened up the waiting list to the service last week and said that thousands of community members have requested invites to be Lyft Plus drivers. To be a driver, you will have to buy the car. Currently Lyft Plus is only available in San Francisco.

Lyft raised $250 million in funding last month from Alibaba and announced an intention to expand into additional markets. Lyft has raised a total of $333 million in funding to date. After last month’s funding round, Lyft launched in 24 cities within 24 hours — including Ann Arbor, Michigan; Buffalo, New York; and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
