Pantheon receives $21.5 million in Series B round
Pantheon is a company that offers a professional hosting solution for Drupal and WordPress websites. Pantheon has announced that it has raised $21.5 million in Series B funding led by Scale Venture Partners with participation OpenView, Foundry Group, and First Round Capital.
Pantheon launched in 2012 as a Drupal hosting company, but it expanded to WordPress after that. Pantheon runs around 65,000 websites on its platform, which is up from 55,000 in September.
This new round of funding will be used to improve its hosting platform and hiring additional employees.
Pantheon sells $25 per month personal plans, which is a great price point for developers to test the service. Pantheon uses containers instead of the virtual machines that other hosting companies are known for. This enables the hosting company to handle traffic spikes to a single website.
