Pinterest receives $200 million in funding
Pinterest has raised $200 million in funding with a $5 billion valuation. Pinterest launched its advertising program with several partners under a week ago.
This round of funding was provided by existing investors like SV Angel, Bessemer Venture Partners, Fidelity, Andreessen Horowitz, FirstMark Capital, and Valiant Capital Partners.
Pinterest raised two rounds of funding that are over $200 million in 2013, including a $225 million round last October at a valuation of $3.8 billion.
Pinterest will be using the funding for international growth and the new advertising program. Pinterest also launched a new expanded search tool last month, which would potentially be used to help increase its ad revenues. Pinterest has now raised a total of $764 million since launching in 2010.
