Oculus Rift to be installed at several Chuck E. Cheese’s locations

Oculus Rift
Chuck E. Cheese’s is testing out the Oculus Rift as part of a six week program. It uses a 360-degree head-tracking technology and 3D to simulate what it is like to be inside of a Ticket Blaster, which is a booth with a running fan that sends tickets in every direction. Users will have to grab as many tickets as possible within a set amount of time.

The Oculus Rift will be available at birthday parties in restaurants where it is available. The birthday boy or girl will get a turn using the Oculus Rift. The headset registers the number of tickets collected and can be redeemed from the merchandise counter.

Facebook is acquiring Oculus for $1 billion and the deal is expected to close at the end of June. Chuck E. Cheese’s was founded by Nolan Bushnell, the founder of Atari.
