Apple Inc. (AAPL): 35 billion songs were sold on iTunes this past week
At the Code Conference this week, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) executives Eddy Cue and Jimmy Iovine revealed some interesting numbers. Cue revealed that Apple crossed 35 billion songs sold this past week. This is up from 25 billion songs that were purchased and downloaded in February of last year. Cue also pointed out that iTunes has around 800 million customers total and 40 million iTunes Radio listeners in the U.S. and Australia. Beats Music is now at around 250,000 subscribers and has hit around 5 million downloads. Conversions from downloads to paid customers would have been higher if Beats Music was using Apple’s in-app purchase technology.
