ElasticSearch raises $70 million in funding

ElasticSearch has announced that it has raised $70 million in Series C funding. The company launched only 18 months ago! ElasticSearch will be using the funding to drive growth.

This round of funding was led by New Enterprise Associates (NEA). Additional investors that participated in this round include Benchmark Capital and Index Ventures. The company has raised around $104 million in total funding thus far. 

ElasticSearch is seeing around half a million downloads per month over the last 6 months. ElasticSearch is used by several social analytics companies and Cisco Systems uses it for network monitoring and security. ElasticSearch has the ability to query across large containers of data and aggregates it. NEA General Partner Harry Weller is joining the ElasticSearch Board of Directors.
