Apple Inc. (AAPL): iWatch reportedly arriving in October
Although Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) announced several products at the Worldwide Developers Conference this year, it did not bring up the rumored iWatch. However, Japanese media company Nikkei reports that an iWatch is coming in October.
The iWatch will have a curved OLED screen and health tracking functions. It will also be powered by iOS 8. The iWatch would be able to monitor health-related data like sleep activities, calories consumed, blood oxygen levels, and blood glucose. It would also be able to manage inbound messages and call notifications. Apple is working with Nike on the device.
At WWDC, Apple announced Health and HealthKit. These two programs make up a comprehensive health and fitness tracking service that is native to iOS. HealthKit lets third-party developers build apps that uses data from the Health centralized repository. The app provides end users a single location to find out about all their tracked information in a single place.
