Google Inc (GOOGL) rumored to be in acquisition talks with Songza
Sounds like Apple won’t be the only one that picks up a music company this year. Google is rumored to be in talks with music streaming app Songza, according to the New York Post. Songza curates music based on moods or activities.
For example, it has playlists for when you are driving, working out, or getting ready to sleep. Google has reportedly offered $15 million to buy out Songza according to the NYP.
Songza is quite a bit smaller than Spotify and Pandora, but it seems to have a very loyal fan base. Google runs an on-demand streaming service called Google Play Music All Access, but acquiring Songza could keep that service organized.
