Donald Sterling withdraws support for $2 billion L.A. Clippers deal
Maxwell Blecher, the lawyer for Donald Sterling, said that he has withdrawn his support for the $2 billion sale of the L.A. Clippers to former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer. Blecher was told to proceed with a $1 billion federal lawsuit against the NBA.
Last week, it sounded like Sterling had agreed to the deal and agreed not to pursue legal action against the NBA. Sterling apparently saw a draft of a statement from the league which he thought absolved him of the lifetime ban and fines.
However, the statement did not offer any relief. Now Sterling has decided to sue the NBA for violating antitrust laws, his constitutional rights, and breach of contract.
