Target Corporation (TGT) hires General Motors Company (GM) executive Brad Maiorino as CISO
Target Corporation (NYSE:TGT) has hired General Motors Company (NYSE:GM) executive Brad Maiorino as chief information security officer, which is a new position at the company starting June 16th. Maiorino was the chief information security and information technology risk officer at GM.
At GM, Maiorino helped retool GM’s information system and IT risk department. GM’s current chief planning officer for information technology Rich Armour will take over for Maiorino after he leaves. Maiorino was not laid off and he decided independently to take the new position at Target.
“I am looking forward to joining the Target team and helping them continue the progress they have made to be a retail leader in information security and protection,” stated Maiorino.
Target is revamping its information security service following a cyber attack late last year where at least 40 million credit and debit card numbers were compromised. Target also lost 70 million pieces of customer data.
