Google Inc (GOOG) reportedly to launch health data platform called ‘Google Fit’
Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) is reportedly preparing to launch a health data platform called “Google Fit,” which would compete against similar platforms built by Apple (HealthKit) and Samsung (SAMI), according to Forbes.
Google is expected to announce the new platform at its Google I/O developers event June 25th and 26th in San Francisco. Google will build a cloud repository that can collect health data from wearable devices included blood glucose devices and step counters.
Google Fit will let wearable companies connect apps to Google Fit using an API. We will be on top of the announcement at Google I/O so stay tuned.
