Lumosity hits 60M users, launches on Android
Lumosity now has over 60 million members that use its intellectual test app. Now Lumosity is launching on Android. Lumosity uses neuroscience research as a foundation. Lumosity was founded in 2005 and launched its first web application in 2007. Lumosity’s service grew quickly on iOS and now nearly half of its new users come from mobile.
“We’re excited to launch our Android app, which will allow us to reach more users and provide them with a convenient and fun way to train with Lumosity from anywhere at any time,” stated Kunal Sarkar, CEO of Lumosity. “Our goal is to create the best, most accessible brain training experience, and with Android reaching 80 percent of the smartphone market share worldwide, launching on Android is an important step toward that goal.”
Lumosity will be investing in new languages and increase its mobile game library. Lumosity now has 40 games on its app.
Lumosity has raised over $67.5 million since it was founded. The company now has 120 employees. Lumosity plans to add 50 more employees by the end of this year.
