Cisco Systems, Inc. (CSCO) to acquire Tail-F Systems for $175 million
Cisco Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:CSCO) has announced that it will pay $175 million to acquire Tail-f Systems, which is a Sweden-based privately held network management company. This is Cisco’s second acquisition this year after Threatgrid.
Founded in 2005, Tail-f has offices in Stockholm and Santa Clara. Some of Tail-f’s customers include Deutsche Telekom and AT&T.
Tail-f specializes in network function virtualization. This technology gives telecommunication carriers the ability to deploy different services by making changes to the equipment software without having to switch physical hardware.
Cisco’s head of business development Hilton Romanski said that Tail-f’s technology would help deploy new services faster.
