Twitter now supports GIFs

Twitter has announced today that it supports GIFs. GIFs are generally animated images that are on a continuous loop.

The GIFs can be shared and viewed on the Twitter iPhone app, Android app, and website. The GIFs will appear on your timeline with a play button, just like how video content appears on the same platforms.

You can upload GIFs through the gallery button under the text box in the same way you would upload a photo. Twitter is not the only social media platform that added GIFs recently. Pinterest, the virtual pinboard social network, added GIF support in January.
