Lifetime to air a behind-the-scenes depiction of ‘Saved By The Bell’
Lifetime is going to air a documentary about what it was like behind-the-scenes on the TV show “Saved By The Bell.” The movie will be called “The Unauthorized Saved by the Bell Story.” It follows the lives of the six stars of the show as their fame grew – Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Dustin Diamond, Mario Lopez, Tiffani-Amber Thiessen, Elizabeth Berkley and Lark Voorhies.
The documentary will expose the challenges of growing up under public scrutiny while trying to maintain a clean image of their popular characters on and off the screen.
The original casting director of “Saved By The Bell” Robin Lippin put together the casting for the Lifetime movie, which will debut on September 1st.
The documentary will star Dylan Everett (as Gosselaar), Sam Kindseth (Diamond), Julian Works (Lopez), Tiera Skovbye (Thiessen), Taylor Russell McKenzie (Berkley) and Alyssa Lynch (Voorhies).
Saved By The Bell aired on NBC from 1989 to 1993 with numerous spin-offs including a college version. There are re-runs of the show on TBC. The Unauthorized Saved by the Bell Story was written Ron McGee and is directed by Jason Lepeyre.
