Apple is now the top mobile brand in China
Samsung is no longer the top mobile brand in China, according to the China Brand Research Center’s 2014 China Brand Power Index. Samsung was ranked at the top since 2012.
The China Brand Research Center bases the rankings on 13,500 Chinese people across 30 cities between the ages of 15 and 60. They were polled from August 2013 to January 2014. According to the report, Samsung was not ranked number one because of a fall in consumer loyalty.
Samsung rose 24.6 points from 2013 to 566.6 points. However, Apple hit 568.5 points.
“If companies (are) focusing too much on market share, while ignoring the concerns of consumers, it will cause a problem in brand management,” said the Research Center.
Samsung maintained first place in the color TV sector for four years straight. Samsung also hit first place for monitors three years in a row. Samsung is ranked third place in digital cameras, digital video cameras, and laptops.
