500px Acquires French App Company Pulpfingers

500px is a Toronto, Ontario based startup that is known for creating a photo sharing website.  The company has acquired a Strasbourg, France based app development startup called Pulpfingers.  Pulpfingers has developed iOS apps in the photography category.  The acquisition was made entirely in stock in the “low seven figures.”  One of Pulpfingers’ largest apps is called ISO500, which is an iPhone app used for browing photos on 500px.  Pulpfingers is ending the development of their Photopular app, which is used for browsing Flickr apps.

500px is a Toronto-based photo sharing startup company that has acquired Algo Anywhere for $2 million in cash and stock. Algo Anywhere is also a Toronto-based company, but they focus on recommendation algorithms. Algo Anywhere is run by two guys that founded the company 10 months ago.

Pinterest Now Has More In-Board Attributions

Pinterest, the fastest growing social network where users can pin some of their favorite products, photos, and videos on a virtual pin-board, has set up some additional attribution tools for websites like eBay, 500px, Kickstarter, SoundCloud, and SlideShare. By the end of the year, Pinterest is expected to be the largest social traffic driver to e-commerce websites, even surpassing Facebook and Twitter. Pinterest has raised over $100 million and funding and is valued at $1.5 billion.
