Q&A website Quora has hired Sandra Liu Huang, a product executive at Facebook. She will be the lead of product development at Quora. Huang previously worked on the Instant Personalization program where TripAdvisor, Yelp, and Pandora integrated Facebook into their services.

Instagram is a photo editing iPhone application that lets you add filters to the snapshots that you take. Instagram has hit 1.75 million users and they have seen about 290,000 photo uploads per day. The company has raised $7 million in funding from Benchmark Capital and individual investors such as Jack Dorsey, Chris Sacca, and Adam D’Angelo. [BusinessInsider]

Former Facebook CTO Adam D’Angelo has confirmed Google Me. Google Me is an upcoming social network being created by Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG) to take on Facebook as first announced by Digg CEO Kevin Rose.

Quora is a real-time question and answer service started by early employees at Facebook.  Former Facebook CTO Adam D’Angelo was one of the founders of Quora.  Before Quora launched, they raised $11 million dollars and was given an $86 million valuation.  Facebook is developing a Q&A system themselves and may even have an intellectual property conflict with Quora according to Silicon Valley rumors.  Quora had a loose invitation system before launching.  If you have used the service, let us know what you think about it in the comments.
