AppData: Airtime Only Has 400 Daily Active Users

Airtime is the video startup company that was created by Sean Parker and Shawn Fanning.  The New York Times is reporting that the company now only has only 400 daily active users.  This data is based on AppData, which tracks users through Facebook Connect.  Sean Parker told the New York Times that AppData was off.

Airtime is a startup that was founded by Sean Park and Shawn Fanning.  It is a video chat program that connects you to people on your Facebook network and the company has raised $33.5 million in funding.  Today Airtime released a new viral video that features celebrities like MC Hammer, Kurt Russell, Gary Vaynerchuk, Ronnie Lott, and San Francisco mayor Ed Lee.  The lead character in the video is Ian Pfaff. Airtime Now Has About 200,000 Monthly Active Facebook Users


Airtime is a video chatting startup that was created by Napster founders Shawn Fanning and Sean Parker. Sean Parker is the former President of Facebook and is known as being portrayed by Justin Timberlake in the movie “The Social Network.” When Airtime launched last month, they were plagued with technical difficulties while presenting a demo of their product with celebrities like Olivia Munn, Joel McHale, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Ed Helms, and Jim Carrey.  So how has Airtime been doing since then?

Airtime Officially Launches Video Chat Service


As you all know, the Napster founders Sean Parker and Shawn Fanning have reunited to launch a new company called Airtime. Before the company officially launched today, Airtime acquired a video startup company called Erly. At the launch party, there were many celebrities to help win the audience over. Celebrities in attendance included Olivia Munn, Joel McHale, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Ed Helms, and Jim Carrey. Unfortunately, during the demo, there were some glitches caused by a custom built Intranet for the event making Airtime look bad even though it was not their fault.

Airtime Raises $25 Million and Acquires Erly


Airtime is a video startup company that was founded by Napster founders Shawn Fanning and Sean Parker. Airtime is still in stealth mode, but they have made their first acquisition. Airtime acquired Erly, a company that lets people create “a beautiful webpage for your event.” The event page lets you invite guests, collect photos/videos/stories, and browse updates from your friends’ events. Erly was founded by former Hulu CTO Eric Feng. On top of acquiring their first company, Airtime has announced a new $25 million round of funding led by Kleiner Perkins, Andreessen Horowitz, and Google Ventures participated in this round of funding as well. Kleiner Perkins partner Bing Gordon is joining Airtime’s board of directors as part of the new round of funding. Airtime is expected to launch on June 5th.
