Amazon.com, Inc. drops price of Fire phone to 99 cents

Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) has dropped the price of the Fire smartphone from $199 to $0.99 with a two-year contract with AT&T. The Fire phone comes with a year of Amazon Prime. The Fire phone was launched on July 25th. Two of the unique features that the Fire phone has are Dynamic Perspective and Firefly. Dynamic Perspective responds to how the Fire phone is held and Firefly can scan over 100 million objects that can be found on Amazon.com.

Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) wants to build a developer ecosystem for the Fire Phone device. This is why Amazon.com is offering incentives to developers in the form of Amazon Coins. Amazon.com is offering developers up to $15,000 in Amazon Coins to give away to users if they develop apps for the device.
