Creative has announced that the 7-inch Android tablet known as the ZiiO is now available for order in the U.S. The device costs between $249.99 (8GB) and $269.99 (16GB). Google Nexus S Now Available In THe U.S.


Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG) has announced that the Nexus S is now available in the U.S. The Nexus S has a 4″ Contour Display and a 1GHz Hummingbird processor. The phone is powered by the Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) operating system. You can buy it now from Best Buy and Best Buy Mobile stores in the U.S. and online. Facebook Android Application Now Has Chat


Facebook has updated their Android application so that it now has chat built-in with push notifications. Previously Facebook Chat could have been accessed using the Trillian for Android application. The Facebook Chat on Android has the full buddy list and open chats at the top for quicker access. Best Buy To Sell Google Nexus S On First-Come, First-Serve Basis


Buest Buy Co., Inc. (NYSE:BBY) will be selling the Google Nexus S this Thursday on a first-come, first-serve basis. All Best Buy stores will open at 8AM local time and online sales will begin at 8AM Eastern Time to align with the retail launch in the east coast. Customers will be limited to 2 phones per person. Google Voice Search Android App Can Now Associate Your Voice With Your Google Account.


Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG) has announced an update to the Google Voice Search application that will let you associate your voice with you Google account. “We built speech models broad enough to accommodate a wide variety of people, regardless of gender, age, and accents, or variations in pitch, pace, and other factors. But we always knew we could build a more accurate model by listening to your voice, and learning how you — as a unique individual — speak. So today we’re launching personalized recognition,” wrote the company in a blog post.

The Army Wants Soldiers To Have An Android or iPhone


The Army is looking to have every soldier have access to a smartphone, whether it is an Android or an iPhone powered device. The Army also wants to pay for every soldier’s monthly bill too. Lt. Gen. Michael Vane, the director of the Army Capabilities Integration Center (ARCIC) is one of the individual’s pushing for the initiative.

Millenial Media has released some numbers about the market share break-down between iOS, Android, RIM, Windows, and Symbian. Millenial is basing this on the ads that they distribute. Millenial’s ads reach about 63 million of the 77 million mobile web users in the U.S.

Unreleased Verizon Motorola 10-Inch Honeycomb Tablet Photo Leaks


Engadget was sent some photos of an upcoming 10-inch Motorola tablet powered by Android Honeycomb. The device is also sporting a Verizon logo. Looks like the Galaxy Tab isn’t the only tablet up Verizon’s sleeves. The device looks like it has a 1GHz Tegra 2 T20, a gyroscope, 32GB storage, 1280×800 multitouch screen, 512MB RAM, and a 32GB microSD card slot. Looking at another screenshot on Engadget, the device also appears to have a micro-USB jack, mini-HDMI port, and 3.5mm headphone jack. [Engadget]

Google Officially Launches Latitude App For iPhone


On December 8th I wrote about how the Google Latitude iPhone application will be releasing soon. Today Google has officially announced the Latitude iPhone application. The Google Latitude iPhone application shows you where your friends are on a Google Map. Between Android, Windows Phone, BlackBerry, and Symbian there are about 9 million mobile Google Latitude users. Check out the video demo below:
