Apple iBooks Hits 350,000 Textbook Downloads In 3 Days

Global Equities Research, an independent research distribution company has revealed that Apple Inc. has hit 350,000 downloads in the iBooks textbook within 3 days. Global Equities also revealed that there have been 90,000 downloads of iBooks Author as well. Global Equities uses a proprietary tracking system to track the downloads.

There are several new features arriving on the iBooks application for iOS soon. The new features include folders (called “Collections”), the ability to e-mail PDFs, and the printing PDFs using AirPrint. There is no word yet on when these new features will be available as of yet. [9to5Mac]

Microsoft Claims Patent On Page Curl Feature Used By Apple iBooks App

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) claims that they own a patent that is being used by the Apple iBooks application on the iPad. The Microsoft patent was intended to be for the Microsoft Courier device, a tablet that never made it past development. The patent was filed in January 2009. Below is an excerpt from the patent:
